Terms of service

Welcome to A House of Cocoa

Thank you for visiting A House of Cocoa. By using our website and placing an order, you agree to the following Terms of Service.

We aim to make every shopping experience enjoyable and straightforward. Please read these terms carefully before purchasing.

1. About Us

A House of Cocoa is a UK-based business specialising in personalised chocolate favours, edible place names, chocolate keepsakes, greeting cards and gift boxes for weddings, birthdays and special occasions.

Our website is www.ahouseofcocoa.co.uk.

If you have any questions, please contact us through our website.

2. Products & Personalisation

Many of our products are individually personalised or made to order.

Please ensure that all names, dates, spellings and other personalisation details are correct before submitting your order.

We will carefully follow the information provided, although we may contact you if clarification is needed.

Our products are individually created, and slight variations in colour, appearance and finishing may occur. Screen colours may also differ slightly from the finished printed product.

These natural variations do not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty or not as described.

3. Orders & Payments

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP).

Delivery charges and any applicable taxes will be shown before you complete your purchase.

Payment must be completed before an order can be processed.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation.

We reserve the right to decline an order where a product is unavailable, payment cannot be processed or the requested personalisation cannot reasonably be fulfilled. If payment has already been taken and we cannot fulfil your order, a full refund will be issued.

4. Personalised Orders & Cancellations

As many of our products are personalised or made specifically to a customer's requirements, they may be exempt from the usual 14-day change-of-mind cancellation rights under UK consumer law.

If you need to amend or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will always do our best to accommodate changes where reasonably possible.

For non-personalised products, applicable statutory cancellation rights remain in place.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

5. Chocolate Products & Allergens

Our chocolate products are made using carefully selected ingredients, including Belgian white chocolate.

Allergen and ingredient information is provided with our products as applicable.

Customers are responsible for checking the relevant allergen information before consumption. If you have a food allergy or dietary concern, please contact us before ordering.

Chocolate should be stored according to the instructions supplied with your purchase, away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

6. Delivery & Dispatch

We take great care when preparing and packaging every order.

Estimated processing and delivery times are provided on our website or during checkout.

Personalised products may require additional preparation time.

Delivery dates are estimates unless a specific delivery date has been expressly agreed.

If delivery is delayed or an order does not arrive, please contact us so we can investigate and provide an appropriate resolution in accordance with your statutory rights.

We recommend ordering well in advance of weddings, birthdays and other important events.

7. Returns & Refunds

Our Return & Refund Policy explains the conditions for cancellations, returns, refunds and replacement products.

Personalised products and certain food products may be exempt from change-of-mind cancellation rights where an applicable legal exception applies.

However, customers retain their statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If an item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible so we can resolve the issue.

8. Product Images & Descriptions

We make every effort to ensure that our product photographs, descriptions and information accurately represent the items available.

Colours may appear slightly different depending on screen settings and printing processes.

Personalised designs may vary slightly depending on the names, wording and other details requested.

All products supplied will conform to their descriptions and applicable consumer law.

9. Intellectual Property

All original designs, illustrations, photographs, branding and website content belonging to A House of Cocoa are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

They may not be reproduced, copied or used commercially without permission.

Where customers supply photographs or other materials for personalisation, they must have the necessary permission to use those materials.

10. Website Use

By using our website, you agree not to misuse its content or services.

We reserve the right to refuse requests involving unlawful, offensive or infringing material.

We aim to keep our website accurate and accessible, although occasional technical interruptions may occur.

11. Privacy & Personal Information

We respect your privacy and take the protection of your personal information seriously.

Personal information provided when ordering is handled in accordance with our published Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.

12. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights.

All products must meet the legal requirements for satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and accuracy of description.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service when necessary to reflect changes to our business, website or applicable legislation.

Updated terms will be published on this page.

Any changes will not retrospectively remove rights arising under orders already placed.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and rights that apply in the customer's place of residence.

15. Contact Us
